Bree Office – eBook Reader

The eBook Reader module is part of Bree Office, designed for seamless eBook reading and management. It supports popular formats like EPUB, PDF, MOBI, and others, providing a versatile tool for avid readers. Features such as customizable display themes, multiple page layouts, bookmarks, and robust search capabilities enhance the reading experience. Whether you prefer single-page focus or continuous scrolling, the eBook Reader offers flexibility for all reading preferences.

1. Opening an eBook

To open an eBook in Bree Office:

  1. Launch Bree Office and select eBook Reader from the Home screen or eBook from the toolbar menu.
  2. Navigate to the location of your eBook file (e.g., EPUB, PDF, MOBI) and select it.
  3. Click Open to load the eBook into the reader.

Once opened, the eBook will appear in the reading interface, ready for you to explore.

2. Customizing the Reading Experience

The eBook Reader module offers various customization options to enhance your reading experience. Click the File Menu button ☰, and select View to access the following settings

Page Layouts:

  • Switch between different page layouts to suit your reading preference:
    • Single Page: Focus on one page at a time.
    • Facing (Pages): View two pages side by side, mimicking a book.
    • Book View: displays two pages side by side, replicating the experience of reading a physical book, often with special handling for the cover page.
    • Show Page Continuously: Scroll seamlessly through the entire book.

3. Navigating Your eBook

Efficient navigation tools make it easy to explore your eBooks:

  • Table of Contents: Open the TOC panel from the toolbar to jump to specific chapters or sections.
  • Bookmarks:
    • Add bookmarks to mark your favorite pages or sections.
    • Access bookmarks from the Bookmarks Panel on the right sidebar.
  • Search:
    • Use the search bar to find specific words or phrases within the text.

4. Printing an eBook

  1. Access the Print Option:

    • Click on the File menu in the toolbar and select Print.
    • Alternatively, use the shortcut Ctrl+P (Windows) or Cmd+P (Mac) to open the Print dialog box.
  2. Configure Print Settings:

    • In the Print dialog box, select your printer from the dropdown list.
    • Adjust the print options as needed:
      • Pages to Print: Choose specific pages or print the entire eBook.
      • Page Layout: Select single-page or double-sided printing if your printer supports it.
      • Scaling: Choose fit-to-page, actual size, or custom scaling options.
      • Color Options: Print in color or grayscale.
  3. Preview the Print Output (Optional):

    • Use the preview pane (if available) to check the layout and alignment before printing.
  4. Print:

    • Once all settings are configured, click Print to start printing your eBook.

5. Additional Features

  • Full-Screen Mode: Maximize your reading area by enabling full-screen mode from the toolbar.
    • ☰ > View > Fullscreen
  • Recent Files: Quickly access recently opened eBooks from the File menu.
    • ☰ > File > select from the bottom section of the menu
